No heavy Met-ting! Selena Gomez cannot resist locking lips with beau The Weeknd during sensual red carpet debut at Met Gala... as his ex Bella Hadid arrives solo

They haven't been shy about their blossoming romance, seen smooching around town since their romance went public in January.

But on Monday, Selena Gomez and The Weeknd gave their most glamorous public display of affection yet, making their red carpet debut at the Met Gala in a flurry of steamy kisses - while his ex Bella Hadid was just moments behind them.

At the star-studded New York event, the rapper and singer could barely keep their hands off each other, clearly in their own special world as they both screamed high fashion style in a tuxedo and frothy Coach gown respectively.

Embrace the evening! The Disney starlet couldn't help but throw her arms around her Star Boy at the luxe event

The duo looked over the moon to be together, keeping closely linked on the carpet having confirmed their widely-discussed romance earlier this year.

As they swanned along the famed steps together, the duo frequently grew close in a shock display which mirrored his romantic.

Selena was simply ethereal in a creme gown by Coach which highlighted her delicate decolletage and elegant collarbone while she paired the look with golden shoes and an edgy chained choker from Tiffany & Co.

While her dark locks were styled into a sleek bob, the Can't Keep My Hands To Myself singer added a bold touch to her look with magenta eyeshadow courtesy of makeup artist Hung Vanngo and Marc Jacobs Beauty.

Her love - born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye - was sharply dressed in traditional black tie attire.

Overjoyed to be together at the exclusive event, the former Disney starlet wrapped her arms around the Star Boy's neck, prompting him to smile exuberantly before pulling the brunette beauty in for a romantic kiss.

Elsewhere Bella appeared in full revenge mode as she sizzled in a sexy one-piece complete with a gaping back and eye-popping body.

Bella and The Weeknd split in November  following a widely-publicised romance, with he news confirmed by People. Sources said: 'Their schedules have been too hard to coordinate and he is focusing on finishing and promoting his album. They still have a great deal of love for one another and will remain friends.'

Last month, Selena and The Weeknd went public after they were spotted together at his LA birthday bash which soon set tongues wagging.

Hand in hand: Selena, who was Vogue's April cover girl, was elegant in creme as she lead her man to the gala

The Tokyo-based designer has been deemed worthy of the solo focus of this year's gala - which inaugurates the museum's eagerly-awaited accompanying exhibit of her label.

It is the first time the gala and exhibit has focused on one living designer since 1983, when it highlighted the work of Yves Saint Laurent.

The Metropolitan Museum in New York - where the annual gala is held - is displaying 120 Comme des Garçons womenswear designs by Kawakubo, spanning the past 35 years, since her first Paris show.
