One of the rarest thing to hear now a days is hunting animals let alone humans with bows and arrows. 
What we heard from the Benshangul Gumuz region in Ethiopia is that the "Shanqella" people, said to be hunters and gatherers, has attacked the Amharas and killed around 17 people and burning around 20 houses. The Amharas, another people of the community who leads life by farming and cultivation.

The event occurred in a place called Metekel (said to be the former western part of Gojjam province). In a conflict, reportedly initiated by two people, then has taken a form of ethnic attack.

Ethnic attack has been a common issue in the region by the locals, which also happened on the September, 2019 when a young boy has been mutilated. This worrisome action is a danger for the community who leads a life as a farmer in a fixed location. The reluctance by the central government to preserve the rule of law all over the country is a determining factor for the rate of increase in ethnic attacks.

In the latest development in Ethiopia's space ambitions, the country is set to launch its first earth observatory satellite in September 2019. Addis Ababa will use the satellite to collect data on changes in the climate and weather-related phenomena.

Officials from the space agencies of both China and Ethiopia met earlier in the year to advance talks on technological transfer and sign cooperative agreements on space activities. ADDIS ABABA, May 30 (Xinhua) -- A car accident in Ethiopia's northern Amhara regional state has left 18 people dead, a regional government office said on Wednesday.

In a press statement, Mecha Communications Office, North Shoa zone, Amhara regional state, said the accident happened on Tuesday afternoon in Mecha city when a passenger minibus carrying religious pilgrims travelling on the road collided with a bus leaving 18 dead and eight others injured, reported state affiliated media outlet Radio Fana.

Police have determined the cause of the accident to be failure by the bus driver to drive in his designated lane and have arrested the bus driver on suspicions of negligent driving.

Addis Ababa, Apr 6 (Prensa Latina) Ethiopia has confirmed today the suspension of talks with Sudan and Egypt without reaching a consensus solution regarding the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.


A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia stated that the nature of the issues of difference are at the moment deeply rooted and more time is needed.

The file is in the hands of the irrigation ministers of the three countries, and the possibility of dialogue remained open for the future, although no date was set in this regard.
